Venue Rentals

The SSI Farmers’ Institute is home to many local events including the Fall Fair, and is known for its central location at 351 Rainbow Road, Salt Spring Island, BC.

 

We are situated on 10 beautiful acres of well-maintained land, providing a picturesque setting ideal for weddings, reunions, concerts, workshops, and other events or gatherings. Whether you're planning an intimate ceremony or a large-scale event, our expansive grounds offer versatility and natural beauty to make your occasion memorable.

 

Venue rentals can include the main exhibition hall, the upper hall, ground use, or the both hall and grounds. The main building is spacious and fully heated with a meeting room and kitchen on the upper level. There are washrooms on both levels, as well as accessible bathroom facilities (including showers) outside. Camping on the grounds is permitted during an event that requires overnight accommodation, additional fees apply. 

The space is available for rent on an hourly, daily, or weekly basis.

Pricing & Rates

The rental rates listed below were put into effect January 2024 and are subject to change. 

Full Exhibition Hall: Both floors complete with kitchen and washrooms$50/hour or $300/day

 

Upper Hall: Meeting room with kitchen and washrooms
$45/hour or $200/8 hour or $250/day rate
Maximum capacity: 75

Lower Hall: Main hall with washrooms
$45/hr or $200/8 hour or $250/day
Maximum capacity: 400​ 

Outdoor Grounds & Washrooms Only:
$40/hour or $300/day

Complete & Exclusive use of Hall & Grounds:
$50/hour or $500/day​​

Add-ons

​Camping: 

$30/day per unit (tent) for camping which is to be collected by renter and paid to the caretaker at the event. 

Music & Dancing: 

If music is to be played at the event, an Entandem Music Licensing Fee is applicable.  The fee structure depends upon the number of guests and if dancing will occur.  Please request a quote.

Table & Chair Rentals:

$10/table – cost per event
$2.50/chair – cost per event
